At our Los Lingues estate, the 3rd terrace is the highest point of our vineyard. With a soil made up of 5% to 10% clay over large basalt rocks, 20-50 centimeters deep, this is the origin and essence of AUMA — a name drawn from the initials of Alfonso Undurraga Mackenna, who founded Koyle together with his children, representing the soul of the vineyard and a tribute to our ancestors. This historic Bordeaux-style blend of six grape varieties combines Carménère and Cabernet Sauvignon with Malbec, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Petit Verdot. The grapes are hand-harvested from selected plots yielding less than one bottle per vine, vinified in barrels specially designed for small-lot fermentation, achieving a gentle extraction of aroma, flavor and tannin.
